Position: Lab Leaders and Assistant Lab Leaders
Start Date: April 2018
Summary: We are looking for energetic facilitators to add to our team of Lab Leaders! The ideal candidates are available to facilitate our after school programs during the week (Tues-Thurs), have a reliable vehicle to transport mobile lab supplies, and can commit to the full duration of the 10-week program.
Who We Are
Young Entrepreneur Learning Labs is an after-school enrichment program designed to engage children aged 7-15 in entrepreneurial thinking and foster their natural, enterprising spirit. In our entrepreneurship programs, KidPreneurs learn vital business skills while starting their own micro-businesses in a fun and experiential way. The program concludes with a Market Day, where kids sell their products to friends, family and the public.
Who You Are
We are looking for energetic Lab Leaders and Assistant Lab Leaders to join our team. Ideal candidates come with varied backgrounds; from business people, entrepreneurs and educators, to students or recent grads with an interest in business or education.
Most importantly, you are an outgoing lesson instructor and creativity seeker who can engage our students and make the learning process fun as you deliver our easy-to-use lesson plans.
- You believe in the value of teaching kids entrepreneurial and financial literacy skills at a young age
- You can engage kids in a manner that is creative and fun
- You are enthusiastic, organized, and professional
- Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Have strong presentation and time management skills
- Have previous business, teaching or training experience OR a university student or recent grad, with an interest in education or entrepreneurship
- Know your way around a computer and possess basic software and technical skills
- Must have reliable personal transportation to transport our mobile lab
- Can provide a clean criminal background check
- Can commit to the days & times of the offered Lab(s) for the duration of the 10-week session(s)
Responsibilities Include:
- Deliver Young Entrepreneur’s easy-to-follow lesson plans in an effective and engaging way
- Facilitate activities, games, idea generation and group participation
- Embody an open, fun & safe learning atmosphere
- Light set-up & take-down of the mobile Learning Lab
- Create a cheerful, positive and happy classroom
- Maintain a positive and enthusiastic attitude with students, staff and parents
- Participate and provide feedback to the YE team to review curriculum effectiveness and class engagement

We are currently accepting applications for both Lab Leaders ($20/hr.) & Assistant Lab Leaders ($15/hr.) for our Surrey and Vancouver locations to start in April 2018. Roles for Leaders vs Assistants selected based on experience and background.
